About Me

Who Am I?

I am a father, a husband, a brother, a son, a grandson, etc.  I am just an average individual living an average life… The only thing that might set me apart from others is my thirst for knowledge.  I often wonder where I would be if I followed the path of an Engineer.  While my interest in a specific subject will certainly change in a few days time, what never seems to change is my desire to explore the things around me.  I am always looking for new things to take apart and understand.  You might call me an inventor, a hacker, a tinkerer, etc. Honestly, I don’t really care what you call me.

Career?

I work for the federal government as an IT Security Specialist and have studied Computer Programming.  I tend to enjoy most things that involve computers, from mundane tasks, to programing, graphics arts, video production, web design, the list just goes on!  When I am not  at work, or tinkering in my office, I seem to have found a second career with the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs.  I have been volunteering for over 15 years with organized snowmobiling and enjoy the comradeshipthat this brings to my life.  Many of my friends that are not “geeks” tend to come from this role in my life.

Why Did I Decide to Maintain This Site?

For more years than I can recall, I have used the internet to research projects.  I have always appreciated the work that goes into sharing the results of individual’s trials and tribulations.  And while I have rarely posted myself other than the odd forum post, I just figured it was time that I give back to the community that has shared so much with me!  Oh, and it’s kinda nice to be able to go back and see your progression over the years! 😉

  1. To the Engineer responsible for the project making use of an infrared sensor and and Arduino board,

Thank you for taking the time to explain how to use these components properly. I am part of a group that is using such components in a project for our graduation. I would like to request use of an image you created where you show how to setup the sensor properly and connected it to the Arduino. Please let me know if this is acceptable.

    • Thank you for your request, as per my email, you may use the graphics for the purpose of your educational project.
