Lasercut Valentine’s Lantern

10-802-Valentines-Lantern---Instructions-0Here is a weekend project which makes a Lasercut Valentine’s Lantern which you can make at home on your Laser Cutter in just a few hours.  This project is complete with instructions and a PDF format build plate ready to load.  The drawings are set up for 3mm thick material.  I used plain “hard board” from Home Depot and wood glue to hold it all together.  The whole thing took 25 minutes on the laser and about 15 minutes to assemble.

To enhance the effect, I recommend glueing some tissue paper to the inside of the side panels.  This will help make the entire lantern glow when you place it over a LED Candle.  I would highly recommend against using a real candle inside of this lantern as it is made out of wood and well, wood will catch on fire!

I encourage everybody to make one and share their photos with me when they are complete.  Please let me know how successful (or not) your project was.

Completed Dimensions:

Length:  12.5 cm
Width:  12.5 cm
Height:  16 cm
